GENERAL SUMMARY:

The Workforce Development Consultant is responsible for designing and implementing comprehensive workforce development strategies that align with organizational goals and enhance team member skills and capabilities. This role involves assessing current workforce skills, identifying future training needs, and developing programs that foster a culture of continuous learning and growth. The Consultant will collaborate with regional internal stakeholders, educational institutions, community organizations, and workforce development agencies to identify current and future talent needs, design targeted programs, and build strong pipelines of qualified candidates. PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Conduct comprehensive workforce needs assessments for the assigned region, 
    analyzing current and projected talent gaps, industry trends, and demographic data.
  • Develop and implement regional workforce development plans aligned with the organization's overall strategic goals and talent needs.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including educational institutions (e.g., universities, community colleges, vocational schools), community-based organizations, workforce development agencies, and industry partners.
  • Design and deliver targeted programs and initiatives to address specific talent shortages, such as apprenticeships, internships, scholarship programs, and career pathways.
  • Collaborate with Human Resources and hiring managers to identify current and future job openings and develop effective recruitment strategies.
  • Partner with learning and development teams to create and implement training programs that enhance employee skills and promote career advancement.
  • Promote the organization's employer brand and value proposition to attract top talent and position the organization as an employer of choice.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of workforce development programs, track key metrics, and make data-driven recommendations for improvement.
  • Research and secure grant funding and other resources to support workforce development initiatives.
  • Stay abreast of current trends and best practices in workforce development, healthcare, and related fields.
  • Prepare and present reports on workforce development activities and outcomes to leadership and other stakeholders.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Deep understanding of workforce development principles, strategies, and best practices.
  • Knowledge of the healthcare industry and its specific workforce challenges.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to conduct needs assessments and develop data-driven solutions.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively engage with diverse audiences.
  • Proven ability to build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders.
  • Experience in program development, implementation, and evaluation.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills.
  • Knowledge of relevant labor market information and trends.
  • Familiarity with grant writing and fundraising processes.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Education, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
  • Certified Workforce Development Professional preferred.
  • Five plus (5+) years of experience in workforce development, preferably in the healthcare industry.
  • Experience working with educational institutions, community organizations, and workforce development agencies.
  • Demonstrated success in developing and implementing workforce development programs.
  • Experience in grant writing and securing funding for workforce development initiatives.
  • Experience working in a large, complex organization. Healthcare recruitment or talent acquisition experience is a plus.
