EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, or other clinical discipline, or healthcare related field required. Master’s degree in health care field required. RN preferred.
  • Master’s Degree in Risk Management, Patient Safety or other related field required.
  • Ten (10) years of progressive leadership/administrative experience in a hospital setting required with five (5) years of experience with Risk Management/Quality/Patient Safety and/or legal or malpractice risk stratification.
  • Minimum of ten (10) years of experience in health administration including five (5) years of experience in a clinical environment and in a large complex health system.
  • Demonstrated track record of successful implementation of Serious Adverse Event process and system and/or Patient Safety/Risk Management institutional wide program.
  • Exceptional leadership abilities, including communication skills, ability to influence in a matrixed organization
  • Must be a strategic thinker that is able to develop and deliver solutions to complex challenges and successfully implement those solutions in a cross-functional, diverse environment.
  • Ability to guide and utilize clinical/claims data to optimize clinical operations as they relate to patient safety and risk prevention.

 

CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURES REQUIRED:

  • Certification in Risk Management required.
  • Certification in Patient Safety required.
  • If a Registered Nurse, current State of Michigan Board of Nursing licensure required.
