Project Manager – Anesthesia POC HFMG (Full-Time)

Position Summary
Under the direction of an Executive Leader and with minimal supervision, the Project Manager is responsible for leading and managing complex projects focused on improving operational systems, workflows, and processes across the organization. This role will serve as the accountable driver for the development, integration, and expansion of the Preanesthesia Screening Program and Anesthesia Optimization Clinic as additional hospitals are onboarded.
The Project Manager will oversee project planning, execution, resource allocation, stakeholder engagement, and implementation efforts while ensuring alignment with organizational goals. Success in this role directly impacts preoperative screening completion rates, reduction of day-of-surgery cancellations and deferrals, optimization of operating room utilization, and overall patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead large-scale projects related to perioperative services, anesthesia operations, and preoperative screening initiatives.
- Build, implement, and integrate the Preanesthesia Screening Program with the Anesthesia Optimization Clinic across multiple hospital sites.
- Develop project plans, timelines, milestones, and performance metrics.
- Coordinate cross-functional teams and stakeholders in a matrixed healthcare environment.
- Monitor project progress and address barriers to successful implementation.
- Prepare reports, recommendations, and presentations for executive leadership.
- Manage project resources and budget allocations within assigned scope.
- Standardize workflows and operational processes to improve efficiency and patient outcomes.
- Facilitate communication among clinical, operational, and administrative teams.
- Serve as a consultant on projects outside of assigned initiatives when needed.
- Supervise and coordinate support staff activities related to project execution.
Preferred Qualifications
- More than 2 years of experience managing large-scale projects within a perioperative services environment.
- Demonstrated familiarity with anesthesia preadmission screening processes and protocols.
- Experience with perioperative optimization initiatives.
- Perioperative clinical experience preferred but not required.
- Strong understanding of healthcare operations, workflow redesign, and process improvement methodologies.
- Experience leading projects involving multiple stakeholders and hospital departments.

This position plays a critical role in ensuring the success of preoperative screening and perioperative optimization efforts. Effective leadership in this role helps reduce day-of-surgery cancellations and delays, improves operating room efficiency, enhances patient readiness for surgery, and supports overall organizational performance.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Requires a Bachelor's Degree in Science, Engineering, or a relevant technical/ management field. Master's Degree is preferred.
- Requires a minimum of four (4) years in Operations Analysis, Management Engineering, Operations management with More than 2 years of experience managing large-scale projects within a perioperative services environment, or a related analytical field in health care or management consulting directed toward process improvement.
- Previous supervisory and/or consulting experience is preferred.
- Previous experience in leading quality improvement initiatives/project management is highly desirable.
- Lean training highly preferred. Significant project management experience and outstanding analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills are required.
- Ability to apply innovative solutions to problems and familiarity with TQM process is also required.
