Medical Staff Credentialing Specialist - Jackson - Full Time - Days
Minimum Education
- High School Diploma or GED with up to 2 years of post-high school training, such as in business school, community college, or equivalent
Minimum Work Experience
- 3 – 5 years of related experience, including 1 year of administrative services experience or its equivalent
Required Licenses/Certifications
- None
Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities
- Knowledge of a variety of computer software programs (including, Microsoft Office Word, Excel and Power Point)
- Experience using e-mail and electronic calendar.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills in order to deal effectively with customers
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated skills to work with deadlines, manage multiple priorities and function independently
- Ability to work flexible schedule in order to provide coverage for meetings
- Ability to function as a high performer in a stressful, frequently unpredictable environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Typing speed of 60-70 wpm.
- Previous healthcare experience with demonstrated knowledge of medical staff policies and procedures and medical staff terminology
- Understanding of department services and terminology
- Experience in minute taking
- Certified Professional in Medical Services Management (CPMSM) or Certified Provider Credentialing Specialist (CPCS)
