Generalist - Regional Supply Chain Management - Fulltime - Days (7a-3:30p) - Wyandotte
GENERAL SUMMARY:
Under the direction of the Regional Director of SCM (Supply Chain Management) and working with the Corporate SCM Directors, this position is responsible for analysis and reporting of data relative to price lists, contracts, product trials, and bids/proposals/ quotations and works with requesters to within the Region to ensure compliance to the SCM Transparent Sourcing Policy. This position supports the Corporate Strategic Sourcing Team in the Value Analysis process by preparing analysis to facilitate assessment and decision making. Prepares and conducts preliminary analysis of cost savings and service data for presentations at the VAT Team meetings.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Supports the Corporate Strategic Sourcing’s role with Value Analysis Teams for products, capital equipment and/or services. Reports utilization and direct costs. Prepares reports on product research, standards and cost analysis for the Value Analysis Team.
- Participates in process of identifying and conducting financial analysis of opportunities for process improvement related to the utilization of supplies, services and equipment for the Region. Prepares reports of cost savings, price fluctuations, and minority vendor activity for the Region. Organizes and maintains files, records and reports relative to contracting activities.
- Analyzes economic impact of national group purchasing contracts. Utilizes GPO analytical tools. Works routinely with Procurement and Systems Support to ensure optimal, contracted pricing is utilized.
- Performs as resource regarding supply chain operations, contracting practices and item usage.
- Participates in activities to increase work-related knowledge, professional expertise and delivery of quality contract services. Keeps abreast of market and product developments.
- Runs reports on compliance of the Regions items usage (contract items vs. noncontract) cart usage/ Templates vs. scripted orders, line count velocity. Reports on overnight freight. Also, reports on cost savings developed and or implemented by Region. Other reports to be determined by the Region Director.
- Attends VAT team meetings and reports back to Region Director improvement needs or successes of the Region.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, Healthcare Administration, closely related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- One to three years progressively experience in professional level analytical role; healthcare and supply chain management experience preferred.
- Analytical ability to gather and interpret data from a variety of sources, as well as manage multiple projects and/or assignments simultaneously.
- Verbal and written communication skills to interact effectively with hospital personnel and vendors.
- Composition and computer skills to translate data into comprehensive, meaningful reports using word-processing and spreadsheet software.
- Must possess ability to work confidentially with discretion and forethought. Must be able to remain calm and composed during confrontational situations. Cultivates working relationships that are positive, professional, and collaborative, e.g. constructive handling of disparate views, respectful treatment of others, displays confidence in own abilities, and is perceived as reliable team player.
- Supports workgroup goals, priorities, and direction. Mentors other team members, provides feedback to the peer evaluation process, and maintains a positive and professional attitude. Reporting Relationship: Reports to the Region Director of SCM.
