Emergency Preparedness Coordinator - Wyandotte - 32 hrs / wk - Days
- Minimum two (2) year degree in Community Emergency Management or two (2) year Degree in Nursing.
- Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry, Nursing or Community Emergency Management or equivalent strongly preferred.
- The Registered Nurse is required to have graduated from an accredited school of nursing.
- Minimum five (5) years Registered Nurse or policy authority or EMS experience.
- Teaching experience preferred.
- Must possess a comprehensive knowledge of the emergency medical services environment obtained through an associate degree or over five (5) years related work experience.
- Bachelor's Degree preferred.
- Proficient computer skills preferred with experience working in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills necessary to interact with a wide variety of individuals and groups.
- Previous clinical nursing experience and/or a demonstrated level of performance or practice required.
- Ability to effectively communicate with EMS, patients, families and hospital personnel.
- Successfully completes preceptor coordinated, evidence based orientation program.
- If an RN, must hold a current RN license in the State of Michigan required.
- If Licensed Paramedic, must have one year of management or command officer experience with a Michigan-based EMS provider agency.
- Advanced Hazmat Life Support qualifications required or within six (6) months of hire. Completes ACLS and maintains current ACLS within six months of hire in the Emergency Department.
- Completion of NIMS training within six (6) months of hire.
