Document & Coding Education Development Specialist- Full Time- Remote
The Documentation & Coding Education Development Specialist is responsible for researching, developing, and implementing educational programs that adhere to Instructional Design and Adult Learning best practices, for employed providers about documentation and coding, both hospital and professional. The Development Specialist is a subject matter expert in documentation & coding, serving as a resource for internal departments within HFHS. In addition to creating educational programs and materials, the Development Specialist will also present educational classes to groups of providers and other staff on the subject documentation & coding.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalent required.
- Associate degree in Education, Business/Healthcare Administration, Medical record sciences or other Healthcare related field or related field or 4 years of curriculum development, instructional design, adult learning, or program development may be considered in lieu of education requirement.
- Three (3) years of coding experience required.
- Two (2) years of experience with curriculum development, instructional design, adult learning, or program development.
- Prior experience in a healthcare revenue cycle position required.
- High level of proficiency in Microsoft Office and/or Microsoft Access applications.
- Data analytics experience preferred.
CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURES REQUIRED:
- At least one of the following certifications is required: CPC, CCS, CCS-P, RHIT or RHIA
