Director – Ambulatory Access & Demand Capacity
Responsible for overseeing the scheduling and capacity management of all ambulatory healthcare services across Henry Ford Health; manage appointment scheduling processes, monitor demand for services, and ensure that the organization has the capacity to meet patient need; collaborate with key stakeholders across multiple departments and areas, to better understand the drivers of access supply and demand, measure performance, develop innovative strategies, and implement creative and effective capacity solutions to drive results and ensure safe, convenient, and appropriate patient access; develop and implement appointment scheduling processes that ensure timely access to healthcare services; monitor appointment demand and capacity and implement strategies to ensure that the organization has adequate capacity to meet patient needs; develop and implement policies and procedures to optimize the use of appointment slots and minimize no-shows; collaborate with other departments within Henry Ford Health including clinical operations, finance, and information technology, to ensure seamless operations; establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for appointment access and demand capacity and implement strategies to improve KPIs; ensure compliance with federal and state regulations related to appointment scheduling and capacity management; utilize and apply knowledge of Tableau, data visualization tools/techniques, Six Sigma methodologies, KPIs, budgeting development activities, process improvement initiatives, Arena simulation software, MS Project, cross-function team coordination support, and process workflows to perform duties; develop and manage the appointment access and demand capacity budget, including monitoring expenses and identifying areas for cost savings; identify and implement process improvement initiatives to enhance patient satisfaction and overall operational efficiency; provide leadership and guidance to key stakeholders to ensure successful implementation and adoption of new access technologies, expectations, workflows, and processes; stay up to date with industry trends related to access and demand, including new technologies, best practices, and emerging standards; attend conferences, participate in professional development activities, and network with peers in the industry.

Education: Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, Business Administration, Operations Management, or in a related field of study (will accept equivalent foreign degree);
Training: None
Experience: Two (2) years in the position above, as a Healthcare Services Manager, as an Administrative Fellow, as a Research Assistant, as a Sr. Research Scientist, as a Research Scientist, or in a related occupation;
Other Requirements: Experience must have included six (6) months use of all the following: Tableau, data visualization tools/techniques, Six Sigma methodologies, KPIs, budgeting development activities, process improvement initiatives, Arena simulation software, MS Project, cross-function team coordination support, and process workflows.
Will also accept any suitable combination of education, training and/or experience.
