Boiler Operator (Building Engineer) / Fulltime / Midnights - Jackson, MI
GENERAL SUMMARY:
Under minimal leadership be responsible for the safe and economical maintenance and operation of all facets of building maintenance. Perform. Preventive maintenance on all HV AC and mechanical equipment; interface with patients; co-workers and other licensed engineering personnel in the maintenance of various HFH campus buildings. Obtain the training required for existing and new equipment and participate in Quality Improvement teams when necessary. Work as teams with other trades as needed.
PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responds to service calls received through the Support Services' Service Response Center and makes necessary repairs and PM's in accordance with applicable state and local building and safety codes. Operates the buildings in a safe and economical manner.
- Coordinates PM's and repairs with minimal impact on customers, patients, and staff. Helps in the coordination of repairs and system shutdowns.
- Studies blueprints and layouts to ascertain layout and repairs of HV AC equipment.
- Acts as a team leader for various maintenance projects.
- Performs other related duties as required.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- Third (3rd) class refrigeration license.
- Journeyman HV AC mechanical license.
- Electrical Journeyman license.
- Boiler High-pressure license or above.
- Journeyman plumbing with heating/cooling experience of three (3) years.
- A minimum of one (1) of the above with five to eight (5-8) years of experience in maintenance of a large industrial or institutional faculty.
