We're looking for a Surgical Scheduler to play a vital role in coordinating operating room schedules and ensuring patients receive seamless surgical care. What You'll Do

As a Surgical Scheduler, you will coordinate surgical procedures to maximize the efficient use of operating rooms, equipment, and staff while delivering exceptional service to patients and physician offices.

Responsibilities include:

  • Schedule surgical procedures in collaboration with physician offices while adhering to departmental scheduling guidelines.
  • Coordinate operating room assignments, equipment, and block times to maximize resource utilization.
  • Gather and verify all required patient, demographic, insurance, and billing information to ensure accurate scheduling.
  • Coordinate with Patient Admitting and other departments to prevent delays in scheduled procedures.
  • Communicate scheduling updates with physicians, clinical teams, and patients.
  • Adjust and reschedule surgeries as needed due to emergencies or unforeseen circumstances.
  • Maintain accurate documentation within the electronic medical record (EMR).
  • Provide exceptional customer service while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

 

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • One (1) year of applicable scheduling, administrative, or healthcare experience.

Required professional licensure or certification may be considered in lieu of education or experience, where applicable.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Two (2) or more years of experience in a healthcare setting.
  • Knowledge of insurance verification and prior authorization processes.
  • Experience working with electronic medical records (EMR).
  • Strong organizational, communication, and multitasking skills.
  • Ability to prioritize work while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
