EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

• Bachelor's Degree in Psychology, Social Science, Education, or related area in order to understand test results, principles of standardized test administration. and patient behavior in a satisfactory manner required. Computer skills in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, electronic testing software, statistical software preferred. Statistics class preferred.
• Ability to understand and implement principles of standardized test administration. 
• Ability to appropriately modify the prescribed battery based on behavioral cues, comprehension, performance, hearing, and visual needs. 
• Ability to teach and assess learners. Able to establish and maintain distraction-free testing and learning environments. 
• Analytical ability needed to administer and score psychological/neuropsychological tests.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORKING CONDITIONS

• Mental/visual strain can occur when reading scores and administering tests for an extended period of time. The ability to sit without restlessness and remain focused for extended periods of time is required. 
• Patients may have one or more of the following problems: neurological disease, psychiatric disorder, substance abuse disorder or other medical condition, such as communicable disease. Often patients cannot see or hear well. Patients may have poor balance or limited mobility. Patients with various devices, such as catheters, or other restrictions, may be encountered. Extended periods of contact per patient may occur regularly.
• Works as part of a team to reassure families about the care and needs of their loved one. May encounter aggressive or distraught family members. Will need to demonstrate diplomacy and sensitivity to diffuse anxiety in these situations.
• Travel to satellite clinics required. Files must be completed on the same day or by the following day.
• Exposure to patients whose emotions, thinking, and contact with reality are compromised creates a delicate and potentially volatile situation. Excellent interpersonal skills and judgment are required.
