Henry Ford St. John Hospital is looking for a Physician - Developmental Behavioral Pediatrics for our Department of Pediatrics. This is a great opportunity for the right candidate to partner with Henry Ford St. John Hospital to provide medical services to our Pediatric patients.
Position Highlights:
- This position offers an opportunity to make a significant impact through compassionate patient-centered care and ongoing research in pediatric developmental health.
- This role will also involve providing comprehensive outpatient and inpatient consultations for pediatric patients under the age of 12, with concerns for mental health problems, including anxiety and depression.
Responsibilities:
- Evaluates and treats patients with appropriate medical diagnostic and treatment skills.
- Coordinates discharge planning with case management.
- Recommends, participates in, and works to ensure the success of efforts to improve cost effectiveness and quality of care provided to patients.
- Accepts patient referrals from other physicians.
- Acts as admitting, attending and/or consulting physician for patients who require hospitalization for primary medical diagnoses, depending on needs of patients, medical staff and hospital.
- Participates in academic programs (e.g. medical education and research) as requested.
- Provides appropriate documentation that meets insurance company requirements; appeal all denials in a timely manner.
- Participates in inpatient and outpatient consultation for specialty, which may include on call schedules.
- Key responsibilities include conducting mental health screenings, assessments, and delivering tailored treatment plans.
Qualifications:
Licensure/Certification/Registration:
Required Credential(s):
• Physician MD/DO with Prescriptive Authority credentialed from the Michigan Board of Medicine obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date. Verified by local Credentialing Office.
Preferred Credential(s):
• Advanced Life Support credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA).
Education:
• Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) required.
Additional Preferences:
- Completion of Pediatric residency program.
- Completion of Developmental Behavioral Pediatrics fellowship program.
- BC in specialty.
