Physician Assistant Nurse Practitioner Surgical Neurosurgery Full Time Days West Bloomfield

Henry Ford is home to highly skilled neurosurgeons with advanced fellowship training and decades of experience treating conditions like brain tumors, epilepsy and spinal disorders. We stay current on the latest research and often have a hand in developments that make neurosurgery safer and more precise.  Our Neurosurgery department often attracts patients from across the region and globe. Year after year HFWB performs more than 1,000 spine surgeries. This position offers the opportunity to be part of a world-renowned neurosurgery department.

• In this exciting opportunity the APP will split time between the OR in neurosurgery cases and independent clinic visits.
• Approximately 50% of the schedule will be in the OR.   
• Position is Monday-Friday, No evenings or weekends.
• The Surgical PA or NP will work in a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment.
• The Surgical PA or NP will be responsible for the assessment, diagnosis, treatment, education, consultation, and care coordination as a first-line provider to patients and their families.
• PA or NP provides inpatient and/or outpatient medical care.
• Takes patient history, performs physical examination, orders, and interprets tests, makes diagnoses, and institutes appropriate treatment programs.
• Works in collaboration with staff physicians, house officers, nurses, and other medical care team members to ensure that patient outcomes are achieved safely and efficiently.
• Specific procedures are individually credentialed as indicated by training and experience.
• First or second assist in surgical cases. 
• Surgical experience is preferred
