Anticipated hours for the position are 4/10 hr shifts: 6:30 am to 4:30 pm (subject to change) no weekends

This is an 

Inpatient Position:

Collection and management of patient information to effectively communicate with attending OTO-HN Staff for the purposes of optimal inpatient care.

The APP would round with the consult teams on all patients currently requiring active management.

The APP would also round on and care for patients admitted OTO-HNS service that are not being cared for by the head & neck oncologic surgery team – this would be done in conjunction with the OTO-HNS Consult Service (currently a senior and junior resident team).

Perform clinical procedures to assist in effective and efficient patient management within the Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery.

Ambulatory Position, Individual must be available to be assigned to multiple clinic locations 

Effectively manage and treat patients in the ambulatory clinics.

Assigned patients based on OHNS decision tree.

  • The Specialty/Invasive Physician Assistant (PA), Nurse Practitioner (NP) will work in a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment.
  • The Specialty/Invasive PA or NP will be responsible for the assessment, diagnosis, treatment, education, consultation, and care coordination as a first line provider to patients and their families.
  • APP Provides inpatient and/or outpatient medical care. Works in collaboration with attending physicians, advanced practice providers, consultants, house officers, nurses, and other members of the medical care team to ensure that patient outcomes are achieved safely and efficiently.
  • Specific procedures as per credentialing as indicated by training and experience. 

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Bachelor's Degree or Completion of an AMA approved Physician Assistant program or Master's degree in Nursing

CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURES REQUIRED:

  • Requires Michigan state licensure and continued certification by the National. Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) OR Current certification as a Certified Nurse Practitioner.
  • Current State license as a Registered Nurse.
  • Current ACLS/BLS as required. Current ATLS/PALS provider status as required.
