Pharmacy Technician Inpatient - Contingent - Rotating Shift - Detroit
GENERAL SUMMARY:
Department: Pharmacy Services Inpatient - Schedule: PRN/Rotating Shift-Work at least 1 week day and 1 weekend shift in an 8 week schedule. One Major Holiday - Hospital: Ascension St. John - Location: Detroit, MI Provide distributive pharmacy services and technical support for the Pharmacist prior to receiving certification. - Refill and maintain automated dispensing systems. - Prepare orders and maintain inventory for the Pharmacy department. - Prepare sterile and non-sterile compounds. - Repackage bulk medications. - Receive and store incoming supplies. - Triage incoming calls and serve as a liaison between pharmacy, patient and health professionals by providing information.
Schedule: PRN/Rotating Shift-Work at least 1 week day and 1 weekend shift in an 8 week schedule. One major holiday.
CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURES REQUIRED:
- Pharmacy Tech credentialed from the Michigan Board of Pharmacy obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience
- -OR- Associate's degree/Technical degree
- -OR- 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
- Candidate will have at least 1 year of experience in the inpatient or retail setting preferred.
