GENERAL SUMMARY:


Under direct supervision of leadership, performs a variety of tasks to support clinical workflow.

PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Complete necessary office tasks such as faxing, filing, sorting, printing, paperwork, mailing letters, etc.
  2. Receive phone calls from patients, and enter them into Epic in-basket as appropriate
  3. Schedule appointments
  4. Call patients for appointment reminder and outreach for tests due
  5. Act as a runner/courier
  6. Escort patient to destinations within clinic
  7. Round in lobby
  8. Maintain examination/treatment rooms, including room turnover
  9. Inventory/stocking of supplies and equipment 
  10. Other duties as assigned

Quality Assurance: 

  • Participate in departmental/divisional Quality Assessment and Quality Improvement 

Programs 

  • Comply with all HFHS and departmental specific safety standards
  • Maintain compliance with regulatory standards regarding practice, environment, and documentation
  • Enter monthly hand-hygiene audit

Other: 

  • Uphold goals, policies, procedures, and expectations of the Henry Ford 
  • Support the mission, vision, and values of Henry Ford
  • Maintain core and applicable specialty competencies as defined by the Henry Ford

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
• High school diploma and/or G.E.D. equivalent. 
• Basic computer knowledge and keyboarding skills. 
• Basic medical terminology knowledge preferred. 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Normal office environment with minimal exposure to noise, dust, or extreme temperatures.
  • Works in a patient care setting with possible exposure to communicable diseases.
  • Manual dexterity required to complete performance of duties. Walks, stands, stoops, and may require some heavy lifting of patients and/or equipment.

Pay: flat pay rate $17/ hr
