Medical Assistant - Wound Care Clinic - Full Time/Days - Jackson, MI
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent. Associate's degree strongly preferred. Those without formal Medical Assistant classroom training, but who have three (3) or more years of experience as a Medical Assistant will also be considered a qualified applicant.
Understanding of medical terminology and pharmacology required.
At least six (6) months of experience within the past two (2) years as a Medical Assistant preferred. Minimum of two (2) years of experience working in a medical office setting is preferred for Specialty practices. New Medical Assistant graduates with externship experience at Henry Ford Allegiance Health sites will be preferred.
Training in EKG, POCT and Phlebotomy (may be required for specific practices and area needs) preferred.
EPIC (Electronic Medical Record) experience preferred.
Must have working knowledge of computer/technology used in medical practice environment such as Microsoft Office, Electronic Medical Record and patient scheduling applications.
Possess effective interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients and clinic staff.
Ability to problem-solve.
Excellent customer service skills.
No previous record of patient abuse.
CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURES REQUIRED:
Formal Medical Assistant classroom training or LPN licensure required.
Must obtain recognized certification within six (6) months from hire date. Active Medical Assistant (MA) certification required. MA certification should be from the American Association of Medical. Assistants (CMA) or from American Medical Technologists (RMA), National Health Career Associations Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA), and National Center for Competency Testing National Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA). Active BLS certification preferred.
