Medical Assistant *NEW PAY RATES!* Urology - Contingent/Days - Jackson, MI
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Those without formal Medical Assistant class-room training, but who have 3 or more years experience as a Medical Assistant will be considered a qualified applicant.
Understanding of medical terminology and pharmacology is required.
Must have working knowledge of computer/technology used in medical practice environment such as Microsoft Office, Electronic Medical Record and patient scheduling applications.
Possess effective interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients and clinic staff.
Ability to problem-solve.
Excellent customer service skills.No previous record of patient abuse.
Preferred Qualifications:
Associate's degree strongly preferred.
Minimum of 2 years experience working in a medical office setting is preferred for Specialty practices.
Training in EKG, POCT and Phlebotomy (may be required for specific practices and area needs) Active BLS certification.
Epic experience.
CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURES REQUIRED:
Active Medical Assistant (MA) certification, LPN license in the State of Michigan, RN license in State of Michigan, or valid RT(R) credentials. MA certification should be from the American Association of Medical Assistants (CMA), American Medical Technologists (RMA), National HealthCareer Association¿s Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA), and National Center for Competency Testing National Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA) within six months of hire.
BLS certification within three (3) months of hire.
