Orthopedic Practice Manager

Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Orthopedic Practice Manager to oversee the daily operations of a growing multi-site orthopedic practice with three locations in Novi, Southfield, and Howell. This leader will be responsible for driving operational excellence, enhancing patient experience, supporting physicians and staff, and ensuring efficient practice performance across all sites.
The ideal candidate will have previous medical practice leadership experience, with surgical practice experience strongly preferred, and a proven ability to manage multi-site operations, teams, financial performance, and physician relationships.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Leadership
- Manage and oversee day-to-day operations across three orthopedic practice locations.
- Ensure consistent workflows, policies, and service standards across all sites.
- Monitor staffing levels, scheduling efficiency, and patient flow to maximize productivity.
- Develop and implement operational improvements to enhance efficiency and patient satisfaction.
- Maintain a culture focused on service excellence, teamwork, and accountability.
Physician & Network Support
- Contribute to the development and implementation of physician network planning initiatives.
- Collaborate with leadership to support growth strategies and operational expansion.
- Assist with onboarding and setup of new provider groups and practice locations.
- Build strong relationships with physicians, clinical leaders, and administrative teams.
Financial & Business Management
- Perform territory and operational analysis to identify opportunities for growth and optimization.
- Partner with revenue cycle leadership to review financial performance, reimbursement trends, and revenue opportunities.
- Monitor budgets, expenses, and productivity metrics across all locations.
- Prepare reports and recommendations for senior leadership.
Compliance & Human Resources
- Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, policies, and accreditation standards.
- Support physician recruitment, onboarding, and retention initiatives.
- Lead, coach, and develop office managers and support staff.
- Address employee relations matters in partnership with Human Resources.
Education/Experience Requirements:
Required
- Associate/Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred with years of cumulative experience.
OR High School diploma or equivalency with 7 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required. - Minimum 3–5 years of progressive leadership experience in a medical practice setting.
- Previous experience managing multi-site healthcare operations.
- Strong knowledge of practice operations, scheduling, patient access, billing workflows, and staff management.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred
- Orthopedic or surgical specialty practice experience.
- Experience supporting physician recruitment and practice growth initiatives.
- Knowledge of revenue cycle management and financial reporting.
