Manager - Enterprise Data Governance | Full Time
GENERAL SUMMARY:
The Manager- Enterprise Data Governance will lead the development of cross-functional data standards/ governance framework and will be responsible for promotion of data standards values throughout the organization. Ensures a consistent approach to implementation and governance of data standards. Accountable for the overall adherence to data standards and industry regulations. Takes on a lead role in designing and building the enterprise data governance process, standards and policies for all data assets.
PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead organizational Data Governance Program.
- Work closely with Business and Technical leadership to improve the quality and value of core data assets, respond to regulatory protection requirements as well as support the strategic requirements of the enterprise.
- Assess and execute on the Data Governance strategy, architecture and practices, and technology implementation.
- Ensure data solutions / major project implementation plans are in alignment with data architecture principles and the overall Enterprise Architecture.
- Oversee deployment and promote continuous improvement of data discovery and classification technologies, automation and integrations.
- Define and lead Data Governance sessions (steering, working groups) for regular data management meetings.
- Work proactively across the organization to identify data sources, data users, and data processes.
- Demonstrate experience leading Data Governance projects to define strategy and roadmap, operating model, policies/standards, and tool design and process documents.
- Monitor ongoing compliance with the governance program to demonstrate adherence to the Data Governance Framework.
- Develop job descriptions, and standard work for enterprise data stewards.
- Recruit and retain a team of enterprise governance and stewardship analysts.
- Guide enterprise implementation of stewardship/governance software.
- Monitor use across analytics teams within the enterprise.
- Develop a certified metrics program for the enterprise.
- Recruiting, maintain, working on retention goals with a team of data stewards in this governance team.
- Developing means and methods to train and maintain embedded data stewards within operational analytics and quality teams.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- Bachelor's degree in information technology or a related field, required.
- Four (4) years of progressively responsible experience leading Data Analytics or Data Governance projects to define strategy and roadmap, operating model, policies/standards, and tool design and process documents, required.
- Experience deploying data lineage and data flow inventory solutions.
- Knowledge of information governance data discovery tools.
- Background in data governance frameworks.
- Proficient understanding of data privacy, data protection, and regulatory aspects of data governance, such as creating and implementing a data rights framework, including contractual requirements, controls set, etc.
- Experience conducting project meetings, presentations, and status reporting with the leadership team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate effectively in a global, matrixed, cross-functional environment about complex subjects.
- Able to articulate key points clearly and concisely, listen to understand the business need and technical context.
