Position Overview:
Henry Ford Health Jackson is seeking a compassionate and motivated Nurse Practitioner (NP) to join our inpatient Palliative Care team in a contingent capacity. This role focuses on providing patient-centered care for individuals with serious illness, including history taking, medication management, and advanced care planning. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong clinical judgment, empathetic communication skills, and a commitment to supporting patients and families through complex healthcare decisions. New graduates are welcome to apply. NP certification is required.

Schedule – Contingent, Monday – Sunday, 7a-5p
Weekend requirement – Weekend rotation.
GENERAL SUMMARY: The Specialty/Invasive NP/PA will work in a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment. The Specialty/Invasive NP/PA will be responsible for the assessment, diagnosis, treatment, education, consultation, and care coordination as a first line provider to patients and their families. Provides inpatient and/or outpatient medical care. Works in collaboration with attending physicians, advanced practice providers, consultants, house officers, nurses, and other members of the medical care team to ensure that patient outcomes are achieved safely and efficiently. Specific procedures as per credentialing as indicated by training and experience. Works in one of the following departments: Cardiovascular Medicine, Emergency Medicine, ICU, Interventional Radiology, Nephrology, Neurology, Neurosurgery, Oncology, Orthopedics, Otolaryngology, Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine, Surgery, Urgent Care, Urology. EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Master's degree in nursing OR Bachelor's Degree or Completion of an AMA approved Physician Assistant program. CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURES REQUIRED: Current certification as a Certified Nurse Practitioner. Current State license as a Registered Nurse. Current BLS. Current ACLS/ATLS/PALS provider status as required by department. OR Requires Michigan state licensure and continued certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA). Current ACLS/BLS as required. Current ATLS/PALS provider status as required.
Qualifications:
· NP – Completion of a Nurse Practitioner training program accredited by the Commission on the Collegiate of Nursing Education (CCNE) or the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission (NLNAC)
· NP – Certification by a certification body recognized by the State of Michigan
Licensure and Certification
· Current licensure as a Nurse Practitioner in the state of Michigan, or in process of applying (must have proof of application)
· National certification as an NP
· Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification required.
· Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
· DEA/CSL, required through credentialing.
· DEA - NPs do not have controlled substance licenses, only PAs. When NPs apply, they will enter MI license number instead of controlled substance license since they won't have a CSL.
