Group Practice Manager - Pathology -
GENERAL SUMMARY:
Under the leadership of a Vice President, Director, Group Practice Director and/or Physician Leadership, the individual in this position is responsible for and requires the greatest allocation of time focused on activities associated with the operation of ambulatory clinics, research, teaching and inpatient functions. Assists their leadership with the implementation of short and long term plans for the department and or satellite. Assists with the development of financial and operational planning and analysis including budgets and pro forma business plan analysis. May represent the Department, Specialty, Satellite and/or Business Unit on various internal and external committees. Represents HFHS via community involvement. Also supports the Business Unit by implementing various initiatives.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Operations
- Manages daily operations of workgroups including patient care flow, business office functions, and staffing.
- Responsible for the implementation of work group business plans and objectives. Provides on-going management and coordination for operational workgroups.
- Performs personnel functions including interviewing, hiring, performance appraisals and disciplinary action as necessary.
Finance
- Administers budgetary goals and objectives for effective operations; analyzes financial performance and sets corrective actions under the direction of their leadership.
Staff Engagement
- With the direction and partnership of a Director, and/or physician leadership, is responsible for support staff, advanced practice provider and senior staff engagement
- Assists with implementing plans and processes to improve engagement and professional development for all staff, as indicated by performance metrics
Patient Care Experience
- Responsible for oversight and process improvements of the patient care experience via optimal utilization of people, processes and technology to exceed patient expectations as reflected by performance metrics
- Works within specific areas of focus and at a much broader level to improve the patient experience from initial point of contact to completion of service
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- Bachelor's Degree in Health Administration, Business or related field. Master’s Degree, preferred.
- Two to five (2-5) years of progressive leadership responsibility within a healthcare setting.
- Skilled in organizational attributes. Ability to communicate in writing and orally to support, direct, and work with employees, leadership, physicians and various external audiences.
- Computer skills including word processing and spreadsheets knowledge.
