Position Overview:
Henry Ford Health System is seeking a full-time Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our Employee Health team. This position offers the opportunity to work within a dynamic Employee Health department dedicated to supporting the well-being, safety, and regulatory compliance of all team members across multiple HFHS sites.
The role focuses on the evaluation and management of work-related injuries and illnesses, employee health screenings, vaccinations, and regulatory compliance. Responsibilities include providing clinical evaluation and treatment of workplace injuries, managing bloodborne pathogen exposures, and ensuring compliance with OSHA, MIOSHA, and CDC guidelines. The department also plays a key role in vaccination programs, respirator fit testing, and medical surveillance initiatives.
Qualified candidates should have clinical experience in Employee Health, Occupational Health, or Urgent Care, with strong assessment skills, sound clinical judgment, and a collaborative approach to care. Candidates must be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment that requires both autonomy and teamwork.
This position offers a predictable weekday schedule with no call or weekend responsibilities, providing an excellent work-life balance while supporting the health and safety of the HFHS workforce.

Qualifications:
- NP or PA graduate from an accredited program
- Current Michigan licensure
- National certification (ANCC, AANP, or NCCPA)
- BLS required; ACLS required (or obtained after hire)
- Required – employee health, occupational health, urgent care, internal medicine experience
Education & Training
· Nurse Practitioner (NP): Completion of a Nurse Practitioner program accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) or the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission (NLNAC)
· Physician Assistant (PA): Completion of a Physician Assistant program accredited by the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA)
Licensure
· Current licensure as a Nurse Practitioner, Assistant in the State of Michigan, or in the process of applying (proof of application required)
Certification
· NP: National certification by a certification body recognized by the State of Michigan (e.g., ANCC, AANP)
· PA: Certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA)
Required Certifications
- Basic Life Support (BLS) – required
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) – required (may be obtained after hire)
DEA / Controlled Substance Licensure
- PA: DEA and Michigan Controlled Substance License (CSL) required through credentialing
- NP: DEA registration required through credentialing; NPs do not hold a Michigan CSL and will use their Michigan license number during the application process
