Electrician - Leader (1.0 Full Time Day Shift) Henry Ford Macomb Hospital
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Successful completion of a trade or vocational school with courses in blueprint reading advanced electrical theory and field operations. A four year apprenticeship or equivalent on the job training is required to be familiar with electrical codes, local ordinances and various equipment and its proper usage. A journeyman's license or equivalent experience as a Master Electrician. The ability to follow established methods and procedures even though the types or repairs are constantly changing. The ability to walk, climb, and crawl through tunnels, pipe shafts, and on top of other pipes, tanks, etc. Must lift heavy loads including but not limited to electrical wire and apparatus, equipment, etc. Requires expert knowledge of operation, maintenance and repair of all electrical systems found in a hospital. Participate in and be able to pass periodically scheduled formal classroom training regarding the theory and operation of the 4800 volt primary electrical system. Be able to thoroughly understand the operation of the system and be able through written and/or oral examination demonstrate expert knowledge of the system and safety issues involved. Be physically able to manipulate the switchgear. Master license preferred. Previous hospital experience a must.
