EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

 

  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing or Respiratory Therapy or completion of advanced degree in Perfusion required.
  • Master's Degree in Nursing, Business, Health Management or other related field preferred.
  • At least two (2) years of clinical experience in ECMO care preferred.
  • Three to five (3-5) years of progressively more responsible experience demonstrating leadership skills in a clinical setting is required.
  • Two (2) or more years of experience with project management or quality improvement desired.
  • Critical care course completed successfully within six (6) months desired. Sixteen (16) hours of ECMO related continuing education annually.
  • Track record of working successfully with physicians and healthcare teams in collaborative practice model.
  • Demonstrate expert clinical knowledge of care management of the ECMO patient and family.
  • Demonstrates ability to be creative and flexible in all aspects of work, self-directed and highly motivated.
  • Takes necessary actions to develop and maintain personal job competencies/ expertise and to improve performance on an ongoing basis; keeps current regarding medical and technological trends in ECMO care.
  • Demonstrates excellent coaching and mentoring skills.
  • Establishes effective relationships with physicians and other members of the healthcare team (collaborative interdisciplinary approach).

 

CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURES REQUIRED:

 

  • Current RN or RT licensure in the State of Michigan or Perfusion certification (CCCP) from the American Board of Cardiovascular Perfusion as required. BCLS certification required.
