Director System Capacity Command Center
Henry Ford Health is seeking a dynamic, forward-thinking Director of System Capacity Command Center to lead transformative efforts in patient logistics and care coordination across our integrated health system. Reporting to the Vice President-System Command Center, the Director of System Capacity Command is accountable for developing and leading a team of professionals responsible for the assessment, planning, facilitation, care coordination, and transfer of patients into Henry Ford Health to provide appropriate clinical care. In addition, this position will oversee the virtual sitter program.
The Director is responsible for analyzing defined metrics, EMR enhancements, process and procedure standardization and identify opportunities for improvement within the System. The output of the analysis is used to develop, implement, and enhance admission and transfer management services across the System as well as inpatient virtual sitter program.
The Director is responsible for development, coordination and maintenance of services that improve the care delivery to our internal patients and external transfers. Implements strategies and systems that ensure standardization of care across the enterprise, resulting in consistent and seamless experiences for patients and efficient, integrated processes and outcomes for providers and other stakeholders across the System.
PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Conducts a systematic review of the organization’s functional capacity to implement interventions for acute populations.
- Fosters data driven decision making by developing and maintaining a system capable of delivering the right data to the right person at the right time to support clinical, operational and financial decision-making.
- Implements process improvement methodologies from opportunity identification through execution and evaluation in accordance with strategic plans and organizational goals for patient logistics and placement.
- Facilitates admission and transfer redesign projects, assisting senior leadership in maximizing resources and efficiencies.
- Provides consulting advice to top administrative and physician leadership.
- Documents current systems and operations. Analyzes systems, procedures, and operations and identifies opportunities for improvement.
- Conducts a comprehensive analysis to assess the impact of patient logistics interventions on safety, quality and patient experience.
- Prepares written and verbal presentations of findings, conclusions, and recommendations.
- Identifies need for and guides the development of systems and structures that promote identification of aligned activities and sustainable results.
- Keeps and maintains information of program progress, particularly as related to needed changes in resources of product design.
- Performs all operational, financial and administrative management activities pertinent to the role and scope of responsibilities.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- Bachelor degree in nursing, Business or related field required. Master’s Degree preferred.
- Five (5) years of relevant experience
- Demonstrated experience in a complex leadership role.
- Advanced knowledge, understanding of, and demonstrated experience applying patient logistics concepts.
- Expert analytical/technical/facilitative and process improvement skills and knowledge.
- In-depth understanding of human relations, group dynamics, change theory, and improvement methodologies.
- Expertise in management principles, techniques and problem-solving methodologies.
- Skilled at managing large, complex assignments simultaneously with potentially conflicting priorities and deadlines.
- Adept at consulting and working collaboratively with a variety of individuals such as executive leaders and front-line staff.
- Expert leadership/mentoring skills.
- Professional interpersonal skills: able to communicate effectively with all levels of management and staff across the System and outside the organization.
- Skillful in learning and applying new patient logistics tactics and methodologies aimed toward improving health outcomes for patients.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to teach complex technical/analytical concepts to all staff. Able to represent HFH at National conferences, meetings and events.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office products: Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
