Director - Security Services | Full Time | Detroit, MI
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice, Security Administration, Business Management or Science, required. Master's degree preferred in a related field.
- Seven- ten years of progressively more responsible leadership experience in Security Administration at a large urban hospital or comparative setting, required.
- Minimum of 10 years in law enforcement preferred.
- Excellent knowledge of the Health Care Industry.
- Professional certification preferred (Certified Healthcare Safety Professional: CHSP) (Certified Healthcare Protection Administration: CHPA).
- Other safety and security certifications a plus.
- Experience and working knowledge of security electronic systems, i.e., alarms, access control, CCTV.
- Must have proven analytical skills essential for dealing with investigations, planning and developing programs, policies, projects and problem solving.
- Demonstrates effective written and oral communication skills and ability to represent system publicly and consistent with HFH mission and values.
- Demonstrates interpersonal skills necessary to deal effectively with employees, physicians, visitors, patients, and families.
- Demonstrate ability to develop long range plans based on emerging technologies and business practices in security/parking and law enforcement.
- Demonstrate effective management skills including goal setting, delegation, monitoring progress of projects, coaching and evaluation.
- Demonstrates a commitment to excellence in management techniques and customer satisfaction.
- Demonstrates strong working knowledge of the laws of the State of Michigan, Crime Prevention, Safety Programs, Investigative Techniques, and JCAHO/State Police and other regulatory Agency compliance.
- Ability to work under stress and handle several crises at the same time.
CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURES REQUIRED:
- Valid and insurable Michigan Driver's License.
- Eligible to obtain a concealed weapon permit.
- Must qualify for and obtain Security Police Agency License.
- Certified Healthcare Protection Administrator.
