Director of Resident Wellness
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
• PhD or PsyD in Psychology from an APA accredited program or from a graduate program approved by the Canadian Provincial Government in which the program is located, or from a program acceptable to the National Register of Health Care Providers in Psychology.
• Master’s degree in health education/health promotion.
• Must have completed a Pre-doctoral or Post-doctoral internship approved by the American Psychological Association or by the appropriate Canadian province or must meet the requirements of a Registrant in the National Register or must be a Diplomate of the American Board of Professional Psychology.
• Post-doctoral training in health psychology in a residency training program.
• Three (3) years of medical education leadership experience.
• Residency educator experience as a behavioral science educator.
• Experience practicing in a multidisciplinary, inpatient pain treatment program.
• Skill and experience in providing clinical psychological services to patients with acute or chronic medical, mental health, substance use, and/or developmental problems and their families.
• Possesses comprehensive knowledge of the scientific methods used in psychology; the social, behavioral, developmental, and biological sources of normal and pathological behavior, psychopathology, behavior change, and psychotherapy.
• Knowledge of state and federal laws and legal requirements.
• Skilled in developing and presenting psychoeducational materials and in making group presentations preferred.
• Skilled in providing clinical supervision preferred. Skilled in working with patients with medical disorders preferred.
CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURES REQUIRED: Must be in possession of a Rule 10 License or fully licensed as a Psychologist in the State of Michigan.
