Dietitian Student - 28 Hours per Week - Days - Wyandotte
GENERAL SUMMARY:
Wyandotte is looking for a Registered Dietitian. However, any person who has completed their education and are waiting to sit for their registration exam can apply and be hired in as a paid student.
Act as nutritional consultant and resource to members of the health care team. Provides comprehensive nutritional care including assessment, Nutrition Diagnosis, implementation of a care plan, counseling, education, and evaluation of outcomes to patients, families, and associates. Coordinates various education programs and seminars on nutritional topics.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- Bachelor's Degree in Dietetics or related field that meets the requirements of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.
- This can be acquired through the completion of an Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics approved four-year Baccalaureate degree program and an Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics accredited advanced Training program.
- Master's degree or Advanced Practice Certification preferred.
- Requires a professional level of knowledge of chemistry, physiology, caloric and nutrient values and physical properties of foodstuffs with an understanding of medical nutrition therapy.
- Requires the ability to read, write and speak English; use and understand medical terminology;. Follow oral and written instructions; perform arithmetic calculations; Strong computer skills and working knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
- Requires a relatively high level of interpersonal skills to effectively communicate and work with medical, nursing and other health care professionals, patients, and their families.
CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURES REQUIRED:
- Registered Dietitian or Registered Dietitian Nutritionist from the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (AND).
