Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Registered Dietitian / Nutrition Consultant to join our healthcare team. In this role, you will serve as a key resource for nutritional expertise, providing comprehensive care to patients, families, and associates. You will also lead educational initiatives and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to promote optimal health outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as a nutritional consultant to healthcare professionals and patients.
  • Conduct comprehensive nutritional assessments and develop individualized care plans.
  • Provide counseling and education on dietary needs and medical nutrition therapy.
  • Monitor and evaluate patient outcomes, adjusting care plans as needed.
  • Coordinate and present educational programs and seminars on nutrition-related topics.

Qualifications

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Dietetics or a related field (must meet Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics requirements).
  • Completion of an accredited internship or advanced training program.
  • Master’s degree or Advanced Practice Certification preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of chemistry, physiology, nutrient values, and medical nutrition therapy.
  • Proficiency in English and medical terminology.
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office.

Skills:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with healthcare professionals, patients, and families.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.

Certifications:

  • Registered Dietitian (RD) or Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) credential from the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR).

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Dietetics or related field that meets the requirements of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. This can be acquired through the completion of an Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics approved four year Baccalaureate degree program and an Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics accredited advanced Training program.
  • Master's degree or Advanced Practice Certification preferred.
  • Requires a professional level of knowledge of chemistry, physiology, caloric and nutrient values and physical properties of foodstuffs with an understanding of medical nutrition therapy.
  • Requires the ability to read, write and speak English; use and understand medical terminology;. Follow oral and written instructions; perform arithmetic calculations;
  • Strong computer skills and working knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
  • Requires a relatively high level of interpersonal skills to effectively communicate and work with medical, nursing and other health care professionals, patients, and their families.

CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURES REQUIRED:

  • Registered Dietitian or Registered Dietitian Nutritionist from the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (AND).
