Dietitian - Kidney Transplant - 40hrs - Days
Department: Kidney Transplant
Schedule: 40 hrs/week, 8 hrs/day, 7:30am-4:00pm, no weekends, no holidays
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Kidney transplant patient assessment and counseling
- Assesses patients for nutritional status to determine if they qualify for organ transplant.
- Provides interventions/treatments throughout patients transplant journey including diet assessment, weight loss advising, diabetes education and food hygiene practices.
- All potential transplant recipients are required by CMS to be seen by a transplant dietitian in the pre-transplant, hospital, and post-transplant phases of the transplant process.
- Collaborates with physicians, nursing and ancillary services.
- Monitors tolerance and effectiveness of nutritional regimen and recommends therapy adjustments as necessary.
- Provides medical nutrition therapy and evaluates effectiveness of treatments.
- Researches and takes initiatives to resolve nutrition care related complaints and problems.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
- Previous renal, bariatric, or diabetes experience preferred
- Bachelors in Dietetics
- 2+ years' experience preferred
CERTIFICATION/LICENCES REQUIRED
- Dietitian credentialed from the Commission on Dietetic Registration obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
- Advanced Life Support preferred. American Heart Association
- BLS Provider preferred. American Heart Association
