Ensures the delivery of safe anesthetic patient care in the Operating Room and throughout the hospital. Administers, manages and coordinates staff activities, provides unit leadership and works in partnership with medical staff, nursing, the health care team, and hospital/system leaders to develop a quality practice setting that supports professional nurse anesthesia practice and quality patient care. Is responsible for carrying out a series of leadership and management activities aimed at customizing education and staff roles, improving unit operations, enhancing communication and feedback, and accepts organizational accountability for services provided to recipients.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Master's Degree in Anesthesiology or Nursing. Three to five years of progressively more responsible leadership in a clinical setting required. CERTIFICATIONS AND LICENSURES: Current CRNA certification through the National Board on the Certification and Recertification of Nurse Anesthetists (NBCRNA). Current license to practice in the State of Michigan as a Registered Nurse. Current specialty license in the State of Michigan to practice as a CRNA. Member of the American Association of Nurse Anesthetists (AANA). PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Extensive walking, standing, lifting, pushing and the like may be necessary. WORKING CONDITIONS: Normal stressors associated with the healthcare environment. Works in a patient care environment with exposure to communicable diseases.
