EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or other Healthcare-related field required. Master's Degree preferred.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of clinical experience required with two years project management, process improvement or risk management experience with knowledge of Lean/Six Sigma methodologies preferred.
  • Two (2) years Emergency Department or Trauma/Surgical Critical Care preferred. 
  • Experience with clinical quality and patient safety principles/initiatives; demonstrated ability to apply concepts.
  •  Leadership experience preferred.
  •  Trauma Outcomes and Performance Improvement (TOPIC) preferred. Must complete within one (1) year of hire.
  • AAAM Abbreviated Injury Scoring (AIS) Course required within one (1) year of hire. Updates and other related courses may be required as needed.
  • Trauma Care After Resuscitation (TCAR) preferred. Course completion required within six (6) months of hire.
  • Must possess strong problem solving and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to manage simultaneous projects/assignments with potentially conflicting priorities and meet all deadlines a must.
  • Must have strong knowledge of efficient and effective data gathering techniques and develop a growing base of analytical/technical and process improvement tools.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to design and present effective educational programs, as well as interact at all organizational levels.

CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURES REQUIRED:

  • Professional certification required within three (3) years of hire (TCRN, CEN, CCRN, or CPHQ preferred).
  • Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC)/Advanced Trauma Care for Nurses (ATCN)/Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) certification preferred. Must complete one of the above within eighteen (18) months of hire.
  • Other certifications may be required as needed based upon experience and departmental needs.
