GENERAL SUMMARY:
Responsible for handling and/or performing the dispatch function. Performs a variety of
complex tasks, which include but are not limited to, gathering and inputting data into the
Department’s computer terminal, controlling/monitoring electronic security systems that
include access controls, alarm monitoring, CCTV monitoring/repair/service and Security
Incident Report Entry. Responsible for monitoring and logging all aspects of the
dispatch function including dispatching and directing Officers and taking routine reports.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Daily functions include answering telephones, provides information and/or
dispatches security personnel as needed while monitoring CCTV, typing, radio
communications and having public contact while exhibiting excellent customer
service skills. CCC will also monitor and be responsible for providing confidential
input and documentation to supervisory team and/or administration on security
personnel’s field performance.
2. Performs dispatching duties and/or coordinates other staff in the performance of
their duties. The CCC has the authority to assign, as well as the responsibility to
direct Officers in their daily activities.
3. Responsible for the monitoring and documentation of performance of all security
personnel in the field, relative to their communication responses, how they respond
to calls, overall timeliness, professionalism, visibility and public relations demeanor.
4. Monitors CCTV system to insure officers are in designated areas and visible to the
public. Monitors/documents and responds to any performance related concerns.
Provides input to officer performance, evaluates as it relates to known performance
behaviors in the field.
5. Trains and monitors the performance of other staff and maintains necessary
documentation for assistance/submittal to Supervisor/Leader for employee
performance review.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- Associate’s Degree.
- Must be able to pass a psychological examination.
- Three (3) months experience as a security officer or dispatcher, preferred.
- Ability to type 25 wpm.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills required to interact effectively with
various internal and external customers. - Ability to operate computer systems and prepackaged software, preferred.
