- Desktop Application Development: Build a clean, workflow-driven graphical user interface using PySide6 or PyQt.
- Hardware Synchronization: Interface with Polhemus Viper electromagnetic motion tracking systems, capturing continuous data streams at 240 Hz alongside concurrent video recording.
- Timestamping & Packaging: Ensure precise temporal alignment of video, motion data, and manual timestamp events (e.g., spacebar inputs). Package these elements into standardized local file directories.
Network Resilience: Implement an offline-capable architecture that downloads and caches JSON protocol definitions via REST API, allowing the station to operate during network interruptions and queue uploads
Role Requirements:
- Strong working knowledge of Python (ability to read, write, and debug non-trivial code)
- Experience organizing code into reusable modules, libraries, or small packages
- Familiarity with Git and version control in a team setting
- Basic understanding of working with data (files, formats, simple validation)
- Willingness and ability to learn new tools and frameworks quickly
- Ability to collaborate, communicate progress, and ask for help when needed
Preferred (but not required):
- Experience with GUI frameworks (e.g., PyQt, PySide, or similar)
- Exposure to working with external devices, sensors, or APIs
- Experience with debugging or testing code in a structured way
