Clinical Specialist – Pharmacist HAP-Full Time-40hr/wk- Troy
Principle Duties and Responsibilities
- Provides exemplary clinical pharmacy services through the provision of pharmaceutical care to the HAP patient population by the review of medication prior authorization and appeals. Discusses case with physician(s) and suggests modifications to drug therapy regimens to optimize the quality of care.
- Monitor, assess, and improve drug utilization programs, formulary management and product specific pharmacy benefit designs.
- Provides expertise to relevant committees (e.g. Benefit Advisory Committee, P&T Committee, HAP Quality Committees). Provides write ups, analysis and coordinates committee activities as assigned.
- Engages in pharmacy program development and implementation as assigned including oversight and compliance activities.
- Develops, designs and maintains departmental processes, procedures, databases, lists and reports as assigned.
- Other duties or projects as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required
- Registered pharmacist in the State of Michigan.
- Doctor of Pharmacy degree or equivalent experience with evidence of advanced clinical training and knowledge in patient care and applied therapeutics.
- Postgraduate experience in managed care is strongly desired.
- Prior experience and knowledge of integrated health systems.
- Exemplary oral and written communication skills as evidence by prior examples of effective implementation of strategies with a variety of system personnel and patients. Ability to lead work groups effectively.
- Knowledge of Pharmacoeconomics and biostatistical applications in drug therapy decision making.
