Clinical Program Coordinator - Ortho Services - Full Time Days

  • Department: HFGH Ortho Services
  • Schedule: Full Time Days 7 AM – 3:30 PM Monday - Friday and no weekends
  • Location: Grand Blanc, Michigan

GENERAL SUMMARY:

·       Coaches patient care unit staff in clinical practice, critical thinking and customer service skill development.

·       Coordinates bed utilization within inpatient hospital patient care units. 

·       Develops, implements, monitors, and evaluates a program of care for a unique patient population.

·       This position collaborates with interdisciplinary staff internal and external to the organization to ensure quality patient outcomes, appropriate utilization of health care resources and effective communication and care across the continuum.

·       Collaborates in the development, implementation and evaluation of guidelines and protocols from an integrated health system approach.

·       Participates in the development and implementation of prevention initiatives and community outreach programs.

 

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION

 

  • Bachelor's degree in nursing, clinical health care field or health care business administration.

  • Three to five (3-5) years in a clinical health care setting or related work experience in a business management position.
  • Two (2) or more years of administrative experience including project management, program development or quality improvement initiatives.
  • Prefer experience in overseeing clinical/business specific programs including analyzing and interpreting data in a health care related field, providing education to clinicians and overseeing process improvement activities.
  • Demonstrate critical thinking and analytical skills to understand root caused issues and how best to display information that is useful in creating opportunity for clinical improvement.
  •  Ability to effectively communicate both orally and in writing with patients, families, and medical personnel.
  • Ability to maintain program relationships and build the program.

Additional Preferences:

  •  Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in orthopedic nursing or perioperative care preferred.    

  •  Certification in Orthopedic Nursing (ONC) or related specialty preferred      

  • Familiarity with joint replacement programs (hip, knee) and fracture management preferred.   

  • Strong organizational and leadership skills to manage patient care pathway Excellent communication skills for liaison work between patients, families, and clinical teams.

  • Ability to educate patients and families on surgical procedures and rehabilitation. 

  • Ability to audit performance metrics and manage data reporting for quality improvement.
