GENERAL SUMMARY: Serves as a performance consultant for assigned clinical areas of responsibility. Assesses learning/development needs of individual RN staff and groups of staff in collaboration with Clinical Manager and other BestChoice Nurse Educators.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Analyzes patterns/trends in performance and develops action/learning plans to address gaps in clinical performance.
· Identifies high risk/problem prone/low frequency competencies in collaboration with the BestChoice Leadership and develops strategies for assessing these competencies. Participates in monthly Nurse Education meetings system-wide.
· Designs, implements, and evaluates educational programs for all clinical disciplines.
· Considers needs of the targeted individual/groups of individuals when designing educational offerings.
· Designs sound educational offerings that: Address the assessed needs. Outline well-constructed educational objectives. Deliver content that is organized and evidence-based. Incorporate strategies to address a variety of learning styles of participating individuals. Utilize teaching methods that are congruent with objectives.
· Demonstrates competency in the presentation of the offering, incorporating sound presentation standards. Utilizes evaluation feedback to improve the quality of future educational offerings.
· Casual travel between Henry Ford Health System (HFHS) locations (inpatient and outpatient) in order to support the clinical staff and evaluate BestChoice RNs.
· Meet/maintain mandatory ongoing education. Participate as needed in BestChoice RN orientation and on-site interviews. Demonstrates knowledge of policies, procedures, practice and regulatory standards and suggesting strategies for improving compliance.
· Supports and aligns BestChoice goals with those of the Nursing Education Department. Role models professional behavior.
· Practices responsiveness through visibility in assigned areas and responding in a timely manner to requests for service. Seeks feedback from colleagues, unit leadership, learners and other customers for the purpose of improving personal performance and services. Serves as a change agent and champion of performance improvement projects. Participates in performance improvement activities within HFHS.
· Documents educational activities according to department standards. Submits abstracts for posters/podium presentations for various internal/external professional conferences.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
· Must have 5 years of clinical Registered Nurse post grad experience.
· BSN is required, MSN is preferred.
· Inpatient Nursing Education experience is preferred.
· Must be able to adapt to a fast-paced environment.
· Must have the ability to “look outside the box” vision.
