Henry Ford Vascular – Jackson is dedicated to the education, prevention, and early detection of vascular disease. The team provides comprehensive care using non-invasive vascular testing and advanced minimally invasive and surgical treatments for conditions affecting the arteries and veins. Position Summary
Under general supervision, the Patient Registration Representative follows standard operating procedures for all patient registration activities. The majority of this role involves checking in patients, making reminder phone calls, and scheduling patients as needed. This position plays a key role in delivering a welcoming, efficient, and service-oriented experience for patients, visitors, and clinical staff.
Position Details
This position is split between Heart & Vascular (10 hours/week) and Vascular Lab (30 hours/week)
Scheduled hours are 7:00 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.
Key Responsibilities
Greet and assist patients with face-to-face check-in and check-out
Perform preregistration, insurance verification, and cash collections
Schedule patient appointments and complete reminder phone calls
Reconcile charts and support patient discharge processes
Accurately enter and maintain patient information in computer systems
Discuss general financial responsibilities with patients and connect them with the Customer Service Center at the Corporate Business Office when appropriate
Work collaboratively with clinic staff, medical providers, and hospital personnel
Contribute to an organizational culture committed to the highest standards of service excellence
Manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced clinical environment with frequent interruptions
Education and Experience Required
High School Diploma or equivalent
Required to perform calculations, complete forms, extensively utilize computer information system
Familiarity with clinic environment preferred
Demonstrated ability to work with detailed information
Requires interpersonal skills to deal effectively both over the telephone and in person with patients, visitors, medical staff, and other clinic and/or hospital personnel
Ability to perform a variety of tasks in a timely manner to meet clinic staff and patient needs
Ability to discuss with patients their general financial responsibilities and connect the patient with the Customer Service Center at the Corporate Business Office
Ability to work successfully in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions
Ability to work within a team setting and be supportive of team members
Successful completion of yearly competencies
Basic computer skills (i.e., knowledgeable opening software/email, navigate on keyboard, logging in and out of computer)
Ability to work effectively with populations of diverse backgrounds and ages
Dependable and punctual
Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task
