Department: Electrophysiology 

Schedule: 40hrs per week; Day Shift; 6:30am-3:00pm; call would only include finishing up cases for the day; no weekends or holidays

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assists with procedures to analyze, diagnose and treat the cardiovascular system. Prepares patients for procedures. Reviews medical history, positions patients and cleans/shaves/numbs testing sites as appropriate.
  • Interprets, describes and reports test results. Recognizes recording errors, artifacts and reacts appropriately.
  • Monitors patient prior to, during and after procedures and promptly reports any abnormal findings in patient's condition.
  • Prepares and maintains equipment, supplies and lab area. Assists in maintaining a clean and orderly department.
  • Ensures equipment is properly functioning. Reports potential problems or equipment malfunction to appropriate personnel and lock/tag out equipment if appropriate.
  • May prepare and administer contrast media and medications within the accepted scope of practice and applicable state and federal regulations. 

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: 

  • High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required. 

CERTIFICATION/LICENSURE REQUIRED: 

  • BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted. 
  • Advanced Life Support preferred. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
  • One or more of the following required: 

    • Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist credentialed from the Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) obtained within 18 Months (1 1/2 year) of hire date or job transfer date. 
    • Cardiographic Tech specializing in Electrophysiology credentialed from the Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) obtained within 18 Months (1 1/2 year) of hire date or job transfer date. 
    • Cardiographic Tech specializing in Rhythm Analysis credentialed from the Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) obtained within 18 Months (1 1/2 year) of hire date or job transfer date. 
    • Cardiographic Tech credentialed from the Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) obtained within 18 Months (1 1/2 year) of hire date or job transfer date. 
    • Radiologic Technologist specializing in Radiography credentialed from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) obtained within 18 Months (1 1/2 year) of hire date or job transfer date. 
    • Cardiac Sonographer credentialed from the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) obtained within 18 Months (1 1/2 year) of hire date or job transfer date.
