Athletic Trainer - 1.0 Variable Shift - U-D Jesuit High School & Academy Detroit
It's an exciting time to become a part of our Athletic Trainer team!! This individual would develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive health care programs for athletes and other patients. Under the direction of, on the prescription of or in collaboration with a physician, the practice of athletic training includes the treatment of an individual for risk management injury prevention, clinical evaluation and assessment, immediate care and treatment, and rehabilitation and reconditioning of injury or illness, or both. The Athletic Trainer is placed in various sites for provision of services including, but not limited to, high school/college/university, outreach programming, community events and engagements, and HFHS sites.
University of Detroit Jesuit High School and Academy (UDJ) is located in Detroit, Michigan. UDJ is a member of the Michigan High School Athletic Association with 14 sports in Class A athletics. The athletic trainer will complete approximately 1800 hours of coverage at their assigned schools with the bulk of the hours occurring during the school year. However, as this is a full-time position, other duties will be assigned as needed.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- Completion of a CAATE approved athletic training education program or educational equivalent required.
- Post-certification master’s degree in athletic training or related field preferred.
- At least two years of related and expansive work experience in all aspects of athletic training or a combination of education and experience preferred.
- Ability to work independently and prioritize delivery of services as needed.
- Adheres to community outreach or school policies, including but not limited to NCAA, NJCAA, and MHSAA while meeting expectations of community outreach programming.
CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURES REQUIRED:
- Board of Certification, Inc. certified as an Athletic Trainer (ATC) required.
- Licensed as an Athletic Trainer (AT) through the Michigan Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs required or obtained prior to date of hire.
- Additional certifications and credentials obtained in health care (i.e., CSCS, PES, FMS, CKTP, EMT) preferred.
