The Accounts Receivable Representative is responsible for processing insurance claims in compliance with payer requirements and assisting patients with personal balances. An AR Rep is responsible for posting payment, contractual discounts, other adjustment, charity care, and bad debt transactions to the patient accounting system. This team member provides a variety of bookkeeping, record keeping, reconciliation and report production functions for the department. An AR Rep is responsible for administering patient financial policies and for assisting in the clerical functions of the department.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

High school graduate or equivalent education.

Minimum of 3 years of experience in health care field such as billing/coding, medical assistant or related experience.

Knowledge and experience with medical terminology either through educational or work experiences.

Data entry skills, strong math, accounting/bookkeeping skills and detail oriented. Excellent written and verbal communications and strong customer service skills required.


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:  

Associate degree in healthcare billing and coding. One (1) year of healthcare billing experience.
