Health Policy Advisor - 40 hrs/wk - Days - Detroit
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- Master's level education in a related field such as Health Policy, Public Health, Business Administration or Economics (with a focus on health care or health insurance).
- Suitable for someone just receiving a Master's Degree or Doctorate in Health Policy or related field or an equivalent of five (5) years of work experience in health insurance, health care delivery, health policy, or health insurance regulations.
- Efficiency in Microsoft Office required.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Good presentation, questioning and listening skills and demonstrated time management skills and proven ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously while completing work within allocated time frames.
- At least two (2) years of experience with population-based payment and delivery models, including Patient-Centered Medical Homes, preferred. Experience with payment and reform initiatives, health care billing codes, statistics, and/or health care economics, preferred.
- Experience in health care delivery (hospital, physician practice, etc.), preferred.
- Prior experience as a clinician (e.g., nurse, Physician's Assistant, therapist) or in health care administration, preferred. PhD in Health Policy or Public Health, preferred.
