GENERAL SUMMARY:

The objective of this position is to provide administrative support for multiple operating environments or systems. The incumbent will be required to perform hardware and operating system maintenance, installation, patch/revision upgrades, account administration, file system maintenance, hardware installations, application support, and software installations on multiple operating environments. The incumbent is required to work cooperatively as part of multiple project teams for application, technology and infrastructure support. The incumbent will be required to participate in capacity and infrastructure planning. The incumbent will be required to work within a process oriented operational environment where metrics based performance measurements are vital to success.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Troubleshoot technical issues.
  • Completes problem management tickets, requests, and changes within the SLA timeframe.
  • Perform Operating System (OS) maintenance to including: installation, patch upgrades and configuration.
  • Perform hardware installations of servers, cabling and storage.
  • Perform file system maintenance to include file system creation, sizing and maintenance. This also includes file system security for user and group access to data.
  • Perform monitoring of systems for Key Performance Indicator (KPI) violations and remedy the situation according to process.
  • Perform scripting to automate functions and reporting.
  • Maintain technical documentation according to standards based upon work performed.
  • Work as part of project teams to prepare for and implement new or upgraded applications.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • Associate’s Degree in Computer Science or related field.
  • Relevant experience may be considered in lieu of academic requirements.
  • Two plus (2+) years of IT experience, preferred.
  • Proficient in MS Office products including VISIO, preferred.
  • ITIL certification, preferred.
  • Ability to occasionally work nights, weekends, and holidays.

Department Specific Experience Preferred:

  • Experience/exposure to IT security.
  • Understanding of patching on servers/desktops.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft applications, including Excel.
