GENERAL SUMMARY:
Under the direction of a Manager, Director, or a Leader, develops and implements a comprehensive program to extract (using a computer language) or collect data, analyze it, and effectively report information from this data to a variety of customers in a user-friendly and actionable way. Able to conduct complex statistical analysis and develop new approaches to measurements and presentation of information. Our customers include physicians, physician groups, physician leaders, hospital leaders, the Board of Trustees, system leadership, transformation consulting, clinical/non-clinical services, Markets, Community, Service Lines, Revenue Cycle, Finance, any user needing information and external oversight/regulatory bodies. This position generates reports and supports comparative database assessment and maintenance regarding performance, clinical, operational, and improvement efforts. Mentor other developers to ensure the spread of knowledge, skills, and backup support. Rises to the varying demands and maintain quality during high pressure/deadlines with greater complexity and ambiguity.
The role is a trusted advisor to organization’s leaders and team members in providing actionable interpretation of the information. Demonstrate reliability and expertise in working with and presenting information to customers at all levels, including but not limited to executives, physicians, clinical staff, peers, and external oversight/regulatory bodies. Must work with least amount of direction, manage deadlines, and maintain timeliness, delivery, and high quality of the products. Develops comprehensive solutions, ad-hoc reports, implements new or improved reporting processes to support strategic and clinical goals of the business operations. The Lead Developer fulfills complex requests, works effectively, provides clarity in ambiguous situations, manages deadlines, maintains timeliness, and quality of products. Engage and quickly adapts to evolving needs of the customers. Consistently demonstrate excellent analytical and problem-solving skills while maintaining keen attention to detail. PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Influence with data insights that are clear and discerning to help leaders make actionable decisions, use compelling and supportive research and knowledge.
- Work collaboratively with leaders and other teams to understand how data solutions can make a positive impact, consults, designs metrics, reports, and builds solutions as needed.
- Research, reviews, and analyzes the effectiveness and efficiency of existing assets and develops strategies for enhancing or further leveraging them.
- Act as a leader to other team members and provides constructive feedback as necessary.
- Independently takes decisions with little or no coaching.
- Creates recommendations for improving work efficiency, quality, accuracy, and presentation of information.
- Applies statistical concepts and relays findings, resulting in actionable information as needed.
- Serves as a liaison between Analytics and business leaders, guides customers to central intake process, triage and fulfill report requests as assigned by the leader.
- Standardize use of analytics tools and semantic layers throughout the organization.
- Demonstrates competency with highly complex projects, manage large scale projects, monitor timelines for deliverables, with minimal coaching.
- Act as a resource for others, guides, mentors, provides end-user training on existing or new solutions, create backup resources on the team.
- Independently understands driving factors for data needs and provide data in addition to specific request.
- Creates complex scripts utilizing optimized query techniques on complex data tables.
Value Based Care IT & Analytics:
- Interface with Population Health and HFPN (Henry Ford Physician Network) leaders to understand how data solutions can make a positive impact and provide consulting, design reports, build solutions as needed, able to work as a liaison between Analytics and Business leaders.
- Gather detailed requirements, document them in our central intake process then identify existing solutions in the Analytics space OR if a new solution is needed then create a detailed product delivery plan, navigate tools, pull preliminary data from internal systems plus external systems such as MiHIN, Payor Interfaces, Azara and any others as required.
- Per-Member-Per-Month, Case Management, Ambulatory and Utilization Management related work as directed by the leadership.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- Bachelor's Degree with a Healthcare, Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics/Statistics, Business OR Applied Science major.
- Six to seven (6-7) years of experience in a healthcare.
- Expert in the use of SQL, advance Excel, report building, tool development, requirement gathering and technical documentation.
- Experience in developing Relational Databases, Data Models, Data Visualizations, curated datasets, data cubes.
- Maintain code repositories on SCM system, merging, pushing, pulling, branching, staging and code commenting.
- Expert in the use of Enterprise Databases.
- Developer level experience in at-least one programming language.
- Good understanding of dimensional models, de-normalized, normalized, unstructured, Hierarchical, Object-Oriented databases and Warehouse, be able to work on the development of data models.
- Expertise in data analysis, visualizations, and requirements gathering & documentation.
- Experience in Business Intelligence tool Power BI.
- Working knowledge of Statistical analysis, sampling, confidence interval, distributions, control charts etc.
- Develop multidimensional semantic layer and analytics query objects for end-users.
