Education Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in public relations, journalism, marketing or a related field.

 

Experience Required:

  • Minimum five (5) years of experience in public relations or corporate communications, with an emphasis in media relations preferred.
  • Experience in coaching subject matter experts and executives.

Preferred:

  • Experience planning and implementing Internal Communications strategies

 

Skills and Abilities:

  • Proven ability to coordinate media relations for a large corporation or organization.
  • Excellent writing, editing and proofreading skills.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills; ability to interact professionally with internal and external customers.
  • The ability to multi-task and prioritize effectively.
  • The ability to work collaboratively, but also with minimal supervision.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint.  SharePoint experience is a plus.
  • Basic understanding of social media and how it relates to an integrated marketing communications program.

Physical Demands/Working Conditions:

  • Typical office environment
  • Sedentary – Exerts up to 10 lbs. of force occasionally to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body.  Involves sitting most of the time, but may involve walking or standing for periods of time.
  • Talking – Expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word.
  • Hearing – Perceiving the nature of sounds.
  • Travel – Occasional travel to HAP’s office or to community events as needed.
