Responsible for serving as the technical subject matter expert of the Middleware Technology discipline defining standards and policies; coordinate advanced support issues to ensure high availability; coordinate and communicate middleware activities with application development, infrastructure support, operation teams and external software vendors; provide overall thought leadership for Middleware disciplines; evaluate new technologies and technical products in the context of business needs, established reference architecture, software packages, installation/configuration, environment provisioning with high availability and load balancing features; collaborate with application development managers, project managers, and infrastructure teams to plan and coordinate application upgrades, fix packs, installations, configuration modifications and other IT environment changes; conduct root cause analysis for critical and chronic recurring incidents; ensure the overall effectiveness of software systems; proactively evaluate, recommend and implement cost effective improvements; evaluate middleware technology against current and future needs and contribute to the development of new principles and concepts; perform research, development and testing of application server middleware and other supporting components/products; provide support with technical solution reviews; support configuration management audits; work with development teams on implementation of new middleware features; establish Web system specifications by analyzing access, information, and security requirements; designing system infrastructure; maintain Web system performance by performing system monitoring and analysis, and performance tuning; troubleshoot system hardware, software, and operating system management systems; design and run system load/stress testing; escalate application problems to vendors; upgrade middleware system by conferring with vendors and customers; develop, test, evaluate, and install enhancements and new software; utilize and apply knowledge of Data Loader, Cygwin, Bash scripting, SFDX, Copado, Salesforce, Azure Devops, Docker, Jenkins, Selenium, RedHat OpenShift, ServiceNow, Jira, GitHub, Kubernetes, Ping Federate, and GIT CVC to perform assigned duties; lead code and configuration deployments as part of the release cadence; assist developers with code and configuration deployment and code repository issues; lead Salesforce release updates, Copado upgrades, OWN archive updates and package installations; utilize metadata deployment tools Copado and GIT CVC for source code management; support the planning and executing of environment refreshes and related activities; troubleshoot issues post refresh; troubleshoot and resolve issues related to Salesforce functionality; lead and participate in Salesforce system updates, Vlocity upgrades, integrations, and enhancements; provide governance for Salesforce API usage, storage, monitoring system performance, outage notification and license entitlement management; keep sandboxes up to date by planning the refreshes and cleaning up unused environments; provision POC sandboxes for all teams to aid testing any functionalities and configurations before implementing them in the Developer sandboxes; and create Unix shell scripts/Ant scripts to automate application deployment processes.

Location: Detroit, Michigan, and multiple undetermined worksites throughout the US.

Salary: $107,099 per year

 

 

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer and Information Science, Information Technology, or in a related field of study (will accept equivalent foreign degree);

Training:  None

Experience: Five (5) years in the position above, as a Software Engineer, as a Senior Software Developer, as an IT Systems Administrator, as an Assistant Manager, or in a related occupation;

Other Requirements: Experience must have included two (2) years use of all the following: Azure Devops, Docker, Jenkins, Selenium, RedHat OpenShift, ServiceNow, Jira, GitHub, Kubernetes, Ping Federate, and GIT CVC.
