Data Scientist – HC Analytics
Responsible for working with other Data Scientists, business analysts, and business users to lead and fully understand their needs for data science solutions; work with a variety of data sources, both internal and external, big, and small, in structured and unstructured formats, to build analytic models utilizing machine learning techniques; partner with the IT groups to ensure that the data is sourced from the right location for data science model building; participate in the development of project deliverables, especially documentation, for data science deliverables; interact with data engineers, business analysts and others to solve analytical problems and develop cutting edge solutions to business problems; extracting, transforming, and analyzing data using a variety of common analytical tools and statistical techniques; present findings in a compelling manner to both a business and non-technical audiences; leverage appropriate data science techniques to create actionable insights from data; develop ETL pipelines for model training, evaluation, and deployment; develop and code data science programs, algorithms, and automated processes to cleanse, integrate and evaluate large datasets from multiple disparate sources; use business acumen to interpret and communicate insights and findings from analysis and experiments for a multi-department audience; access data from internal databases and sources, including warehoused and pre-modeled data; stays current on data science and analytics tools, techniques, and practices; work on an Agile (Scrum) team; utilize and apply knowledge of Large Language Models (LLM), Generative AI, Data Visualization, SQL, Tableau, Advanced Excel, Python, Machine Learning, PowerBI, R, and Claims Data to perform assigned duties; and write clean, reliable, and testable code that supports rapid delivery via CICD and automated deployments.
Location: Detroit, Michigan, and multiple undetermined worksites throughout the US.
Salary: $95,000 per year

Education: Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer and Information Science, Business Analytics, Data Science, Public Health, or in a related field of study (will accept equivalent foreign degree);
Training: None
Experience: Three (3) years in the position above, as a Senior Data Scientist, as a Quality Informatics Specialist, as a Research Administrator, as a Senior Research Fellow, as a Management Analyst II, or in a related occupation;
Other Requirements: Experience must have included one (1) year use of all the following: Large Language Models (LLM), Generative AI, Data Visualization, SQL, Tableau, Advanced Excel, Python, Machine Learning, PowerBI, R, and Claims Data.
Will also accept any suitable combination of education, training and/or experience.
