Weight Health Coach - 24 Hours per Week - Days - Wyandotte
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
· Bachelor’s degree in a health related field.
· Masters degree preferred.
· Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification for Healthcare Providers.
· Approximately one to two years’ progressively more responsible related work experience in order to possess proven group leadership skills, ability to develop and coordinate educational programs and acquire skills necessary to provide instruction, preferred.
· Communication and interpersonal skills necessary in order to effectively interact with patients and other clinical professionals.
· Ability to be effective in stressful situations.
· Must possess manual dexterity, visual acuity, and be able to stand for long periods.
· Ability to conduct exercise program using general exercise equipment is desirable.
· Must have a clear speaking voice and comfort presenting to small groups.
· Ability to conduct a variety of Physical Activity (PA) classes is desirable.
· Perform activities of other associates within department to provide coverage during absence and/or periods of high work volume.
· Analytical skills necessary in order to plan, implement and evaluate the effectiveness of service line outcomes.
· Must be able to demonstrate basic Physical Activity (PA) techniques.
· Maintains clinical affiliation in area of specialization.
· Must be able to stand for 33%-66% of work time.
· Must be able to exhort moderate physical effort (lift/carry/push/pull objects to 25 lbs.)
· Must have the presence and demeanor necessary to represent HFHS effectively in the course of performing job responsibilities.
· Must have reliable transportation and willingness to work at multiple locations.
· The Academy of Nutrition and Dietetic Multidisciplinary Weight Management certification is desirable. · Personal qualities including high level of social sensitivity, strong organizational skills, excellent telephone communication skills, flexibility, initiative, self-directed work ethic, and team-player.
· Proficient in computer programs MS Word, Excel, and Power Point.
· Proficiency in the motivational interviewing counseling technique is desirable. Must meet or exceed core customer service responsibilities, standards
