EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

•High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
•Enrolled in an accredited school of nursing.
•Complete two clinical rotations, one of which must be Med/Surg (in an acute care setting) by start date.
•To remain in the extern role you MUST: Actively be enrolled in a nursing program. Successfully complete each course. Provide transcripts to Nurse Manager after each course. Provide a copy of your plan of work to your Nurse Manager. If at any point the extern does not meet their academic institutions standard for continued enrollment in the school of nursing classes, their employment as an extern will be rescinded.
•Current Health Care Provider Certification required.
•Physical ability to lift and move patients, supplies, and equipment with appropriate technique/device.
•Successful completion of 180-day introductory period required to achieve knowledge of policies relative to job duties and patient care unit.
